Happy Advent!

Five weeks until Christmas...

Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days:
Oh jeez. Let's see, getting through these darned subject tests, getting into University of Michigan, having a crazy-awesome 18th birthday, not going to Europe (sounds crazy, yeah?), maybe a relationship depending on my maturity level at that time, starting college, and MOVING OUT.
Yes, I am very excited for college, but mostly for the whole idea of not being at my house. Don't get me wrong, I'm very, very grateful that I have a house and a family who gets along... semi-well... well, we all love each other. But, at the same time, I've been here for almost 15 years. I'm ready to move on.
No, I don't know how to take care of a husband or kids yet. Heck, I hardly know how to take care of myself. But, in my opinion, that's what the whole college thing is for. I have to get a job and make my own money. I have to make my own food. I have to clean my own room!! Oh my goodness. Yes, it's for education and learning about careers and such, but education is so much more than that. Education is learning how to conduct yourself in the "real world." I've been home schooled all my life, so I've been very... not "sheltered" per-se, but I've been surrounded by Christians my whole life. One has to learn to deal with people of other religions, cultures, races, etc. Culturally, I think I'm fairly well rounded. Racially, well, I'm a minority myself, my mom was born and raised in Indonesia, so the whole idea that skin color makes someone different really bothers me. Religiously? Again, being surrounded by Christians my whole life, I need to learn how to share Christ with those who don't know Him, or even those who are opposed to Him. I need to learn how to be strong in my beliefs, respect others' beliefs, and continue spreading the Gospel in a way that would make my Lord proud to call me His child.

Anyways, this turned out to be a way longer post than I had anticipated. Well, now you know my views on college.

I'm sorry!

Well, November is almost over and I totally failed this. But I have a new computer now, so I might be able to post more. Maybe.

A YouTube video:
So incredibly cute.

Whatever tickles your fancy:
Yesterday I ate two Pizza Hut personal pizzas and felt very fat. I also studied for... about nine consecutive hours. Death. On. A. Stick. Yeah, next week I'm taking these subject tests so I can go to college.

Your day, in great detail:
My dad woke me up at 9 and said I needed to start getting up earlier 'cause I have to wake up at 6 next Saturday. Then he said I had to take my sisters to church and gave me $9 for breakfast. Then... I fell back asleep for an hour, then I got up and got on the computer. Later I'm going to church, studying some more, and possibly going to Christ the King. I hope.

Your week, in great detail:
Monday: I wrote two papers and did about 40 pages of history homework, then I went to ballet, I didn't have rehearsal 'cause Corey was sick, then I went home, did more homework, and went to bed.
Tuesday: I went to Explorers. During first hour, my boot broke, so during third hour study hall I ran to DSW where my daddy got me a new pair of sneakers. Yay! During drama people got scripts, but not me :( I didn't have $20 and my mom was sick. After that I went to ballet and we talked about the Spring Recital. After that I went to Prayer Meeting at Christ the King which was pretty fun. Kristin brought a bunch of candy! Yay. Then we went to Applebee's, but I was broke and we needed gas, so Jalen was super nice and shared his food.
Wednesday: ...was depressing. I pretty much studied all day? Then I went to ballet. Then I went home and watched Youtube videos all night.
Thursday: I studied, ate ramen, went to the Haak's for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner, played Guitar Hero, and watched Toy Story 3 for the first time. It was a good movie.
Friday: I studied for like, six hours. Then I went to Jalen's house and took a finance test. I couldn't do it at home, 'cause I lost my book... oops. We watched Enchanted, then kinda just sat on the couch and did nothing... it was very nice. There was snow when I was driving home...
Saturday: I went to dance, I went to Target, ate said pizzas, got a new pair of snowboots, and studied for NINE HOURS.

This month, in great detail:
I don't remember! I do the same things every day!

This year, in great detail:
Dates to remember: 2/14, 2/26, 4/14, 6/24, 9/14. I don't really feel like writing this all out. And I have to go to church. So bye!

Four days!?

My daddy is ordering me a new computer! Yay! Only a few more... I don't even know how long it will be. *sigh* It's really hard sharing a computer with my mom, 'cause we're both in school and we both have very full-time occupations. Anyways.

A talent of yours: Music. Definitely music. And I'd like to say dance, but I'll focus on music. My mom started me on piano when I was... three? four? I don't remember. Very young. I have nearly perfect pitch, I can pick up any instrument (except for drums) relatively quickly, and I have pretty darn good rhythm. I've played the piano, accordion, guitar, recorder, and I currently play (though not practice, haha) the violin. I also sing. This music thing helps with my dancing, too.

A hobby of yours: Dance. Dance dance dance. I dance on average 10 hours a week. During December, I dance seven days a week, sometimes four hours a day. I'd like to think I'm good. I am pretty good. Not professional level, but I don't think I'll ever get there. I do ballet. Yes, I can stand on my toes, and yes, I eat three meals a day. I love dance! The best thing about dance is that I can use it easily to glorify God. Worship dance is something that I've been doing since I was eight. I've been in Tricia Wise's company, Oh Be Joyful, since then. We actually danced in Times Square once. After that we kind of disbanded, and now she just calls if she has someone who wants a dance. I also teach worship dance. So, it's pretty awesome. I love dancing, and I hope to continue to do so after high school.

A recipe: Hmm.... well, I don't cook. Uhh... Jiffy Mix, an egg, some water, and some canola oil! Yay! Now you have a cake!! Uhm... yeah. If you want a recipe, get a cook book. Haha, sorry.

A website: This is my sister's deviantart. She has some pretty kickbutt photography there. And poetry. And drawings... Yeah, she's pretty much the artsy one in the family, besides my mom.

Apologies for not posting, but as I said, my computer is in a coma, and I don't think it'll come out anytime soon.

In other news, OH MY GOSH OUR PLAY IS CAST AND I GOT THE PART I WANTED!!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaayyyy!!!!!!!!! We're doing Once Upon a Mattress and I'm cast as Lady Larken! I'm pretty much flippin' excited. And my love interest is my friend Ian. Haha, this should be interesting. Congratulations to the cast! Especially Jalen, Ian, and Jono, three of my best friends who got awesome parts. Yay! This year's play is gonna rock.

x_x

A song that makes you cry (or nearly):
Well, I don't cry for songs or movies or whatever, but Just a Dream ~ Carrie Underwood is sooooooooo sad... Also, Everything ~ Lifehouse. And watch the skit, it's really good.

An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.):
My friend Fiona pretty much rocks at photography. Like, she's better than most professionals I've seen. So, dear Fiona, please don't hurt me for putting your photograph here. But I love it so much.

Whatever tickles your fancy:
Ohhhhhh my goodness I'm going to die. My computer died. And dragged me along. So, pray for me. Please and thank you.

Dang it....

So, apologies for not posting yesterday. My computer had a heart attack and is now in a coma. >:(
I don't think I'll be able to finish the everyday thing, though I'll try.
I'm actually writing this from my itouch. Nifty, eh?
Again, I'm sorry.

November 15th

A fanfic:
Wow, the fact that they ask for something this geeky makes me so incredibly happy. A fanfic, if you didn't know, is a fan-written fiction about a book or movie or something. So here. Warning: there's a bit of language and talk about drugs and alcohol. Yukari's a drunkard...
Anyways, Azumanga Daioh is absolutely hilarious. Go watch it or read it or something. It's a Japanese series about a group of girls in high school. It's so funny... And there's nothing terrible in it, although the first episode might put you off due to the amount of swearing... but after that it's incredibly great. That author, who's name escapes me, also wrote Yotsuba, which is also something that puts me on the floor it's so funny. It's about this naïve girl with green hair. So read that. It's also very kid friendly, so if you're not too fond of language, Yotsuba is the one for you. Check them out in the manga section of your local bookstore. Didn't that sound like a commercial?

By the way, not sure if I told you this before, but my friend is writing something else on that site. It's technically not a fanfic, 'cause he came up with all the everything all by his lonesome, but it's awesome. Go check it out. Oh, and there's a character based off me. Can you guess which one?

I'm back!

So, I just went on an AWESOME retreat with my youth group. It. Was. Amazing. It was so cool. Easily one of the best weekends ever. Besides the CRAZY lack of sleep, it was pretty much 45 hours with amazing friends, a kick-butt retreat team, amazing music, great talks and testimonies, hours and hours of praise and worship, and an AMAZING GOD!! It was so great!! Basically, it was about prayer and surrendering. Three of my best friends got over something they've been struggling with for the past three years to two months. I got an awesome relief from the stresses of family problems and school, and this awesome joyful expectancy - God did awesome things on that retreat, but he's gonna do even more awesome things. Flipping sweet, awesome, Spirit-filled things. God is awesome.

Fictional book:
Didn't I already say my favorite book? Okay, I'll pick another. Les Miserables, by Victor Hugo. He is an amazing writer. And it's an amazing book. There's probably an accent in there that I forgot, though.

Non-fictional book:
The Bible by... well, God. Yeah. Read the Bible. It's pretty much amazing. Personally, I really like the stories about kings in the Old Testament and Paul's epistles in the New Testament.

11 and 12

A photo of you taken recently:

Lame-o lighting. And a blackberry in my mouth. :3
Whatever tickles your fancy:
I'm going out of town for the next two days, so I won't be posting anything. I'm going on a church retreat! And it's gonna rawk, haha! But seriously, it's gonna be totally awesome and Spirit-filled. Pray for us!

:(

Sunday, I wasn't home all day. Monday, I was doing homework all day, and yesterday, I wasn't home all day again. *sigh* Senior year is a mean thing that gives me no time :(

A photo that makes you happy:
My friend Jono took a picture of his sister Annie holding a pineapple and doing a Psych pose. It's awesome. Unfortunately, I can't post it. So you can see... this one. It's a kitten.

A photo that makes you angry/sad:
Definitely this one. Girls, or guys, even, should not have to starve themselves to feel beautiful! You shouldn't be looking and the mirror and seeing a fat, ugly, person. You should a gorgeous person that God made a specific way for a specific reason! Yes, eating too much is not good, but eating itself is *not* a terrible thing. The average amount of calories a teenage girl, I'm pretty sure, should eat in a day is 2000. Not 200. I'm 5'3" and dance everyday. I need to eat over 2200 calories a day to maintain my weight! And I'm a healthy weight! So please, please, please, eat. Not eating results in so many health problems. Not to mention, you turn into a brittle skeleton that could snap at anytime. Not to mention, food is delicious.
Apologies for the somewhat graphic photo.

A photo you took:
Uhhmmmm I don't ever take photos. Well, actually I do sometimes, but only with my webcam which has really, really bad quality. So, here ya go. This is me and my sister Lydia being reallllly weird. I'll put a normal one in, too.
Haha, don't we look like skulls?

We look a lot alike...

A photo of you taken over ten years ago:
Six years old?
Yeah, I wore my hair in pigtails eeeeeeeveryday. Haha, Lydia and I really do look alike. Sorry for the bad quality, I took a picture of the picture with my webcam.

Sarah @)~

P.S. Happy Mama Sparrow?

Still bad at this.

Days 5 and 6.

Favorite quote:
Hm...... There's a lot. Songs, Bible verses, and anything from Psych. "Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess." from Taylor Swift's Love Story, "when you lie down, you will not be afraid. When you lie down your sleep will be sweet." Proverbs 3:24, "A little girl outside just started crying when she saw this shirt." Shawn Spencer in Psych. Take your pick. I don't really like many serious quotes, though.

Whatever tickles my fancy:
Well, I could ramble on and on and on. Or I could tell you a horrible thing that happened to me last night.
Background: A while back, the ignition on our van got all whacky so we got a new key.
So, I dropped off Rachel at Mission Christ, then I went to Jalen's house and we watched Psych and Sanctuary for about an hour and forty minutes. By then it was around 10:40pm. I had to pick up my sister at 11, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the church from where I was. I went outside to the car and realize... Oh man, this key only works for the ignition. And I always lock my car. Oops. I'm forty minutes from home and locked out of my car. At 11 at night. My mom had to drive allll the way from our house to give me a key then go pick up Rachel. *sigh* That's my life.

Favorite book

Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander. It's awesome. It's a children's book about a a boy and his cat and they travel through history and around the world. It's awesome.

In other news, it's Rachael's birthday! Yayyy!! I loooooove Rachael soooooo much!! <3 Happy seventeenth, love.

Today kind of stinks. I have a headache and I'm really bad at calculus and I don't want to take tests or do school and my back hurts. But I have good friends, so it's okay.

Days 1, 2, and 3

Wow, I'm really bad at this. Okay, try again.

Favorite song:
Easy. Wrapped In Your Arms by Fireflight. I love it I love it I love it. I love the music, I love the words, I love the message, I love the applicability, I just love it. Wonderful song. I also love Love Story by Taylor Swift and Lucky by Jason Mraz.

Favorite movie:
Hm..... probably Finding Nemo. It's so cute and happy and I love Dory. :]

Favorite television program:
Psych! It's amazing! It's about a guy who solves crimes by being super smart and observant, but he tells the police he's psychic. It's hilarious and awesome.

Sorry for not doing this for the first two days, I got to play taxi driver for my sisters 'cause my mom's been busy with Lydia's Cinderella play. She's a dessert chef, yay! Haha, I have no idea what the heck a dessert chef does.

Love,
