I have no confidence. I tell myself to do something. I tell myself I can do something. But then…I don't do it. At the very last second I tell myself I can't do it, so I don't.
Go for the gold. Don't take no for an answer. If you know you can't do it, tell yourself you can. That last push is all it takes to get past the last hurdle.

It seems like an epic story from history or legend when you say it like that, but is that really how the world works? It seems to me that more often than not, the last ounce of energy and effort aren't enough, and so the rare cases when it does work are immortalized forever. It's no excuse to not try, but I'm just wondering what you think.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think that's true, too, sometimes it's not enough. Saddening, yes. I think this is more of an inner winning though. The last push might not be good enough for other people, but it'll be good enough for yourself. If you push yourself further than you know you can go, then you'll learn you can go that much more.
